Drawing of blue fin tuna wrapped in plastic cellophane packaged on Styrofoam. Drawn on PETE plastic lid for take out sushi. Blue fin tuna considered by some to be the most majestic fish in the sea is also one of the tastiest. A large fatty Blue Fin has a market price of 20,000 dollars, though these larger specimens - once plentiful- are increasingly scarce. Earth day 2008 San Francisco announces increased curbside collection of plastics including for the first time this shape of PETE container, rendering this drawing fully recyclable within San Francisco. Recycling this drawing could result in the manufacture of fleece jackets. Original image from which drawing was made found on blog during web search for images of 'Majestic Blue Fin Tuna'. Blog sights newspaper sighting high levels of Mercury found in blue fin sashimi in New York City restaurants. Original Photo taken in San Francisco by Justin Sullivan in January 2008. San Francisco ban on Styrofoam food service containers does not seem to extend to fish meat or cut vegetables packaged in local grocery stores as shown in this photo.
